“How I used a hookup app to trick and kill seven women for money” – Suspects

Adebayo Olamide Azeez, a man who is accused of killing seven women for ritual reasons, told police on Thursday how he used the dating app “MyChat” to trick them into dying too soon.

Azeez, who is 32 years old, admitted that he was part of a gang that killed women and sold their body parts for rituals.

The following people were arrested and put on display by the Ogun State Police Command: Moses Abidemi Awuraji, Oluwo Samuel Monday, Peter Oluwalolese, Jamiu Yusuf, Akinwunmi Ifatosin, Sherifff Agbai, and Osojieahen Alioneitouria.

All of them were taken on charges that they killed Sulaimon Adijat, a 35-year-old woman, for money.

Police caught Azeez after he had been on the run for a while. He said he joined the gang in September of last year and helped kill seven women.

He spoke while Abiodun Alamutu, the state commissioner of police, was showing off people who were thought to be thieves.

Alamutu said the suspect worked with a healer named Moses Abidemi Awuraji to plan to kill the people for money.

“The suspects killed their victims by strangling them, then cut up their bodies and sold the parts to Oluwo Monday Samuel and Alfa Ariwo (who is still on the run) for ritual use.”

“The three suspects admitted to killing ten different women at Moses Abidemi’s home in Igbo Olomi,” Alamutu said.

He told them how he caught and killed them: “I got the women from MyChat, which is a hookup app.” When Moses Abidemi Awuraji called me to say they needed body parts, I just told them I wanted to hook up with them.

“They will call me and say they need body parts. I will then use the app to hook up with women.” The women were new to me; we had never met or talked before; I only talked to them on the app. I ask them if they are free, and we talk about how much they want to be paid. A deal will be made, and I will give them my address. They can then come to me at Atan-Ota.

“When I get them, I’ll call Moses Abidemi Awuraji to let him know they’re nearby. I’ll then take them to his home in Igbo Olomi, Atan-Ota, and we’ll kill them in his living room.”

“Awuraji Mariam, Abidemi’s wife, will hold their legs down while I choke them.”

“I joined the gang in September 2023, and so far we’ve killed seven women.” These are the women I brought to the house where we killed them.

What do they do with the bodies of the women? My job is just to find the women and bring them in. They don’t always tell me how much they’ll give me. Sometimes they pay me N30,000, and other times they give me N40,000.

“When they ask me to bring the women, I can’t say no.” They don’t tell me who they sell the body parts to, and I don’t ask them. My job is just to find women and get paid.

At the same time, Alamutu said that the Command is trying hard to figure out who the other victims are.

He told people whose family members were missing to call the cops and bring pictures of the missing people.
